Park Synagogue Sisterhood combines service to the Synagogue with active educational, social, religious, and social action programs. The Sisterhood meets each Tuesday from September through May at Park Synagogue East. The day begins with classes taught by our clergy, professional staff and lay people, with subject matter ranging from world events to prayer study, comparative religion, bible study, Yiddish, and Jewish history and music. After classes, the Sisterhood gathers for lunch, followed by an interesting, entertaining program.
Sisterhood activities support the Synagogue in many ways. Immediately following Yom Kippur, Sisterhood begins decorating Park's huge sukkah, constructed on the Patio outside of Rosenthal Ballroom. Sisterhood funds the decorating at Park Main, as well as the school sukkah at park East, decorated by the student of the Religious School and Preschool.
The beautiful kiddush following Shabbat services is arranged by Sisterhood, as are the floral arrangements that grace the bimah each week.
Park's Sisterhood provides excellent opportunities for new members to meet, learn, socialize and become part of the Park Family.
